ANNIE BENNETT
Therapist
Annie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) who graduated from Regis University in 2022 with her Masters in Counseling and a certificate in Depth Psychotherapy. Annie enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults as each age of development brings its unique need for growth and processing. In addition, Annie uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which includes mindfulness practices, to help clients navigate and cope with anxiety. Annie has worked with the LGBTQPIA+ population for several years and provides an open and accepting atmosphere to empower clients. With over 20 years experience leading music and theatre programs, Annie includes physical movement, music and visual art as a means to explore and guide the healing process.
Annie’s work in Depth psychotherapy provides the lens to examine the symbols and clues that each person’s psyche brings forward. Whether this information is brought forward through imaginative play, dreams, or talk therapy, these clues can be used to guide the client in releasing old thought patterns and beliefs that no longer serve them.
Additionally Annie uses Narrative therapy to guide each client to tell their story, providing for opportunities to re-author the sections that no longer serve the client. Through this, the client is the authority in their healing. “Sometimes we need someone to listen to our story and bear witness to it. Other times we need someone to help us understand the events in our story or assist us as we write the next chapter in our story. No matter our age, we each have the ability to learn from our stories and create a path towards our desired future.”
